Buisson derives its name from the area's main tree species: pine, holm oak, broom and boxwood.

A VILLAGE SECRET
In the 16th century, during the Wars of Religion, Buisson was attacked several times and destroyed in 1588 by Protestants from Nyons. They invaded the village and stole the church bell, which was not returned until a hundred years later, after numerous lawsuits.
