The small village of Faucon offers a splendid panoramic view of Mont Ventoux. You'll be charmed by the houses built of local stone, the famous "lauzes", which give this ancient fortified town its distinctive character.
To visit Faucon, follow the Avenue de la République. This will take you to Place des Tilleuls, where you'll discover Saint-Germain church and its 19th-century bell tower.

Following the rue du Belvédère beside the church, you'll come to the recently restored communal oven. It is still used from time to time. The street leads to a square overlooking the old village ramparts, where a few arcades and the facades of medieval houses remain.

From here, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the valley and Mont Ventoux.

Heading back down towards the town hall, you'll come to the square in front of the Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs chapel, with its pretty stone fountain and covered square.

To continue your walk, there are several forest paths starting from the village, allowing you to discover the surrounding nature and vineyards, or to reach the Ouvèze via the hamlet of Beaumettes.

Outside the village is the pretty Romanesque chapel of Sainte-Colombe, surrounded by oak trees. As you continue along the path, you'll come across an old wash-house and a spring which, according to legend, cured sick eyes...

Faucon is the birthplace of the "orangé de Provence" apricot. Charles Cornu, an agricultural engineer from Faucon, brought the first specimen back from the Balkans under the name of "polonais", and spread it throughout Provence.

COUP DE COEUR
In 2015, the village celebrated the redemption of seigneury rights by the Fauconnais from the pope's representative to preserve their autonomy, which they obtained on July 11, 1565. This was the occasion for a beautiful medieval festival throughout the village, a reminder of the concern of its successive inhabitants to maintain and defend their quality of life.
