Come and escape to the smallest village in the Vaucluse, nestled on the northern flank of Mont Ventoux, for a stroll in an exceptional setting.
Lost in dense vegetation, this former papal dependency will charm you with its houses huddled together on the side of the Bluye mountain, amid impressive panoramic views over the valley.

Along the road, you'll notice an old clock under its small roof, before discovering the fountain where a delicious, fresh spring flows, flanked by a curious oval-shaped washhouse dating from 1880.

In the middle of this miniature village, Saint-Léger church, simple on the outside, still retains a picturesque 19th-century painted interior.

On the outskirts of the village, the 17th-century chapelle Saint-Basile overlooks the Toulourenc. People used to come here on pilgrimage to cure babies of their cradle caps.

Saint-Léger is famous for its mythical cliff, the Baleine cliff, known as a mecca for rock climbers, with over 80 routes of varying difficulty.

Along the long-distance hiking trail that runs along the foot of the cliff, you can indulge in the sport of climbing, while the river bed offers hikers the chance to discover the narrow gorges of this part of the Toulourenc.

Saint-Léger-du-Ventoux is also the sunniest village in the valley, with a wealth of natural springs.

The street names are full of imagery: rue du Cadran Solaire, (look it up!), rue des Faux Monnayeurs, as a man engaged in this dishonest activity is said to have lived here under Louis Philippe.
