The Théo Desplans Museum, located in the heart of Vaison-la-Romaine's archaeological park on the famous ancient site of Puymin, opens its doors for the 20th European Museum Night.

This year's program invites you to travel on the theme of "From Stone to Work" ...

Join us this Saturday, May 18th from 7pm to take time to discover the museum, appreciate the works and enjoy this program based on sculpture and monumental decor, all with free admission!

Program for the evening:

  • From 7pm: meeting with Cyril Bienfait, a stonemason specializing in the restoration of historic monuments. "La classe, l'œuvre": presentation of selected works from the museum by students from the Lycée Stéphane Hessel.
  • 8:30pm: "The archaeologist's favorite": presentation of an object by Elsa Roux, PhD in archaeology, specialist in Roman decorative stone cladding.
  • 9pm: 3-voice museum stroll by Théo Desplans museum guides.
There's also a film on stonemasonry techniques by students in the Première class at Lycée Stéphane Hessel.
